Hey friends, I’m back with another delicious dessert recipe for you!
My husband and I make this mug cake All. The. Time. So much so that I’ve started calling it the Super Bruce Mug Cake. Although to be honest, it should really be called The Super Bruce Bowl Cake because this thing can easily serve two. But that makes it sound like football? (which, ew) Plus I have never once shared a bite of this magical mug cake with anyone and after you taste it, I don’t expect you to either.

As a new mom (and just as a rule in general), I prefer to be as lazy as possible when I can, so I make this mug cake mix in bulk so that when I’m having a craving, all I need to do is add the wet ingredients! Why? Because I’m a forward thinker, a woman of ingenuity! I’m also someone who just really loves cake and instant gratification.
*side note* The bulk recipe makes roughly 24oz so make sure you have at least a 2 pint glass jar to store it in. (I use a 32oz wide mouth mason jar) *ok carry on*

Ingredients (bulk batch):
+ 1 cup all purpose flour
+ 3/4 – 1 cup granulated sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
+ 2 tsp baking powder
+ 1/4 tsp salt
+ 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Directions (bulk batch):
+ literally just measure The ingredients, pour them into the jar, put the lid on, and SHAKE.
To make a single serving from the bulk batch:
+ Simply measure 5 & 1/2 TBSP + 1/4 tsp into a microwave safe bowl, stir in 1 large egg and 2 heaping spoonfuls of Nutella, and microwave following the single serving directions below! Easy peasy!
Ingredients (single serving):
+ 2 TBSP all purpose flour
+ 1 1/2 TBSP granulated sugar
+ 1/4 tsp baking powder
+ Pinch of salt
+ 2 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder
+ 1 large egg
+ 2 big spoonfuls of Nutella
Directions (single serving):
+ In a microwave safe bowl or (very) large mug, mix all dry ingredients. (Hot Tip: don’t fill your bowl/mug more than halfway as this will cause the cake to expand out of the bowl during cooking! I may or may not be speaking from experience here)
+ In a separate bowl, combine the egg and Nutella until fully mixed. Stir in egg and Nutella until well incorporated.
+ Microwave on high for 90 seconds, check, then microwave for an additional 10-20 seconds as needed. When it’s finished, the top should look “wet” but shouldn’t jiggle if shaken slightly.
